Inconvience Pay
I had training yesterday. Heard that NYSCOPBA cut a deal with the State regarding our Inconveience pay. Heard that NYSCOPBA has agreed to insert a 6pm to 6am cap on it. This would take us back to the old style of Inconvenience pay. The ARBITRATION award(fake contract) makes no provisions for this.
It states that Officers working the afternoon shift will recieve $1 per hour, and Officers working the night shift will get $ .50 an hour as Inconvience pay. It further states that each facility will create their own hours as far as afternoons, night. EX: 3-11, 4-12, 11-7, 12-8. No where does it state there will be a time frame with minimum hours worked. Our old contract had a provision that you must work 4 hours between 6pm and 6am to recieve this pay. NO WHERE IN THIS NEW CONTRACT is there any language that states this. This was supposed to be BINDING ARBITRATION, not-if we made a mistake we can fix it. This is further evidense that this was not an ARBITRATED decision but an agreed to contract.
We have not recieved back pay to April 1, 2006 on inconvience pay-The comproller claims it is too hard to figure out! Where is NYSCOPBA NOW? Sitting in their offices getting ready to shove another contract down our throats. Any 5th grader can figure out what we are owed!
$1 or $ .50 per hour times number of hours owed, minus vac days, PLS and sick days.='s back pay.
Seeing that ther is no participation on this site, this will fall on deaf ears.
This site is finished on Dec.31 as no one really gives a damn, but I will continue fighting with FLIMFLANIGAN and the other chief honchos at NYSCOPBA until we finally have a real UNION or I retire. Cant get elected to NYSCOPBA at the sector level, as they really don't want me to say some of the things I say. I'm really not a renegade- I just want whats right and fair for myself and my fellow co workers.
