Sign and T-Shirts will be supplied for all adults attending.
Fair admission tickets will also be issued to ALL who attend
Busses will be provided!
Make a day of it-remember everyone will get in free and not limited to NYSCOPBA members. Get a large group together and let the UNION use some of your dues money ON YOU
RSVP to your sector Steward (S.McKeel) by August 18 so there will be enough shirts, tickets etc.
Show NYS and the Public that we are a force to be reckoned with!!

Vacation

I will be on vacation until Aug 19 and will not be posting.
Officer Geyer has been given the autority to post in my place. Hopefully he keeps this blog going.

FLIMFLANIGAN toured Collins yesterday. He is scheduled to visit Gowanda today.
Won't tour Wende as far as I know. Afraid of the backlash of his agreement with the state.
If he does tour Wende while I am away, please let him have it. Question everything! He is a good liar so you will really have to hit the right buttons. Don't take no BS from him and his puppies.
Got a load of BULLET PROOF VESTS in Rear Arsenal yesterday. Tried one on, they are heavy and bulky. No way to wear under uniforms. Do not know details on issuance, etc.. Will keep advised as I get info.

Training Officers

I had training on Mon and Tues.. Co's Foley and Habernack did an outstanding job! Thanks guys. It was very refreshing to have training with a couple of young, energetic people. As you all know, training is boring after you've been through it so many times. We now have new blood and new ideas in training. It's nice to get a fresh opinion on the status of this department and Wende CF as seen through junior officers eyes.
Was it hot enough for everyone? The blocks must have been ridiculous.
Auburn atempted escape from van was definitely pre planned. The 2 Officers stated in thier reports that they stopped at a Burger King drive thru because the inmate had to use the bathroom. They claim they opened the side door and gave the inmate a bucket to urinate in, whereby the inmate took off. Officer stated that he fired his revolver at the inmates legs, after firing a warning shot. Officer missed. Training tells you to shoot CENTER MASS, no warning shot was necessary and inmate should have been shot. Instead, the Sheriffs had to catch him! This would have been another Bucky hunt had he successfully escaped. Use our heads people, don't just hand the State your jobs. Stay safe and watch each others backs.
