Country buffets
On arecent visit to COUNTRY BUFFET on Transit Rd., we had a bad experience.
It was a Saturday night at around 5:00pm. My Wifes family(24 people) went to this buffet between the wake for my Wifes mother. We waited over 1 hour to reach the front of the line and pay. We paid for 24 dinners. At this point a bus carrying 44 seniors pulled up. These 44 people were escorted into the restaurant and seated in front of the roughly 100 people in line. I asked the manager why this bus took precedence over our group of 24. He replied that he had no control over busses arriving. I asked him to have our group seated in one area so that we could converse. He stated, "your party will sit where I tell them to sit." My wife asked him for a refund for the 24 dinners she had purchased. He then told her he would give her a refund when he got around to it. He then turned to the group and stated,"all of you will have to leave." he claims that our group was holding up the line of people waiting to come in. We bande together and refused to leave until my wife was issued a refund, and then we would leave together. He stated that if we didn't leave immediately he would call the police. I told him to do what he had to do! I also told him that in the 15 minutes he used trying to get our group to leave, he could have issued the refund and we would have been gone. He told me I was a wise ass punk. Imagine me being 50 years old being told I was a punk by a puke about 40. Words were exchanged-but we did get our refund without the PD being called.
I wrote the Head of the company about my experience at one of its buffets. They replied that they would believe the managers story, that no bus had arrived, that the 44 people I counted getting off the bus was not accurate, that they didn't accept reservations, that the manager was a highly trained professional and that according to the manager we only paid for 20 dinners instead of 24. I have a receipt for 24 dinners paid and 24 dinners refunded.
I am asking that you DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS PLACE!! I have posted this all over the internet, on web pages and blog pages. I have never been treated this way in any other establishment. I realize this manager might have been having a bad day, but that doesn't excuse his non professionalism towards his guests. What was a bad day already,became even worse. It was supposed to be a family thing to take our minds off of the wake we were attending. Instead it turned into a nightmare as the IN Laws really wanted to punch this guys lights out.
